In the hottest June ever recorded in the country, Japan has experienced this year as the meteorological service announced today, while climate change is causing stuffed heat waves worldwide. “The average monthly temperature in June in Japan was the highest for this month since 1898 when statistics began,” the Japanese meteorological service (JMA) said. “As strong regional antagonisms insist, the average temperature in June was 2.34 degrees Celsius higher than normal,” he said. “Water temperature on the coast of Japan was also 1.2 degrees Celsius higher than normal, reaching June 2024 – at the highest level since the beginning of the data collection in 1982,” he added.
