Yemen’s Houthis said on Monday they had targeted three ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, attacks they described as part of their efforts to impose a naval blockade of Israel. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a televised address that the ships were targeted because they attempted to approach ports bound for Israel. As Reuters reports, all three targeted vessels were registered in Liberia. One of the ships, named Motaro, said to be of Greek interests, was last seen off the western coast of Yemen in the Red Sea, en route from Egypt’s Suez Canal to Shanghai, according to the available data. The ship ‘SC Montreal’ was reportedly targeted in the Arabian Sea while traveling from Port Victoria, Seychelles to Salalah, Oman.
