The historic hotel-casino was demolished with a controlled explosion and collapsed within 22 seconds, with the image broadcast live by several American media. The demolition was accompanied by fireworks and a drone show as it marks the first casino demolition in the city in nearly a decade. In its place will be erected a baseball stadium to house the MLB team “Oakland Athletics”, which is estimated to cost 1.5 billion dollars. Tropicana Las Vegas was one of the last hotels in Las Vegas since the 1950s. The hotel welcomed its first guests on April 4, 1957.
