The IFO’s general business climate index for Germany continued to improve, reaching 96.6 points in March from 92.7 the previous month and beating estimates of 93.2 by a wide margin.
Meanwhile, the the current economic evaluation index reached 93.0 points in the reported month, compared to 90.6 in the previous month and the 91.3 expected.
The IFO expectations index, which indicates companies’ projections for the next six months, rose to 100.4 in March from 94.2 points the previous month and better than market expectations of 95.2.
