The image of two abandoned toddlers breaks hearts – A note was found next to them

A toddler and his baby brother were rescued from near-certain death last Tuesday by U.S. border guards. The brothers were located abandoned on the banks of the Rio Grande and their published photo breaks hearts.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said during a patrol on the river by boat, police spotted “an unusual color on the riverbank.” When they looked more closely, they found a two-year-old girl and her three-month-old sister. A note was next to the children, stating that they were brothers and that they came from Honduras.

The little ones did not need medical help and were transferred to Uvalde, Texas. So far it has not been clear how long they had been abandoned alone.

“Paying attention to the detail that agents show on duty can make the difference between life and death,” said border guard Robert Garcia. “It breaks your heart and frustrates you to know that there are children who are abandoned without remorse or concern for their lives and well-being.”

The children were rescued at a time when an immigration crisis is taking place at the border USA and Mexico, which shows no signs of slowing down, according to the NY Post.

On Wednesday, the CBP confirmed that border guards had identified 208,887 migrants at the southwest border in August. The number is slightly lower than the 213,534 recorded in July.

The number records an increase of 317% compared to August 2020, when 50,014 and 233% were recorded compared to the same month of 2019, when 62,707 were identified. Immigrants.

August was the first month since Joe Biden took over the presidency of the United States, which is down from the previous month. During the first eight months of this year, authorities stopped 1,323,597 migrants trying to cross the border.

Members of both parties in the United States have accused the Biden administration of encouraging the entry of illegal immigrants into the United States in connection with the harsh policies pursued by President Donald Trump.
