The French aircraft carrier arrived today (26/2) in the port of Limassol Charles De Gaulle (CDG), with the Navy Command (DN) of the National Guard (NF) having jointly planned training exercises with the French Navy (PN).
In particular, the General Support Ship (PGY) ALASIA, together with the Patrol Ships (PP) AMMOCHOSTOS and GEORGE, set sail for the unification and escort of the French Aircraft Carrier CDG, with its entry into the Territorial Waters of the Republic of Cyprus, his arrival in the port of Limassol. The Ships of the Navy Command will merge and will accompany, again, the FS CDG after its departure from the port of Limassol, on Friday, March 4, 2022.
According to the General Staff of the National Guard, during the mooring, the aircraft carrier will be visited by the Minister of Defense, Charalambos Petridis, the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis, the hierarchy of the General Staff of the National Guard and the Deputy General Staff.
His mooring aircraft carrier Navy Task Force CTF-473, Naval Cooperation (PASSEX), Search and Rescue (SAREX) and Air Defense (ADEX) exercises with Rafale aircraft are considered to be particularly beneficial, as they provide the personnel of the Hellenic Armed Forces to be co-trained with Units of the French Armed Forces, thus promoting interoperability and the development of relations in the field of naval and air cooperation.
