Anisha Rosnah binti Adam is the granddaughter of Isa bin Ibrahim, minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office who had a distinguished career in the government of Brunei holding several important positions, including that of Minister of the Interior and speaker of the Legislative Council. Previously he was a prominent businessman, most notably as president of Royal Brunei Airlines. It is not known exactly how long the couple have been dating and are officially engaged, but the suspicion that the relationship could become serious arose last January, at the wedding of Mateen's sister, Princess Azemah, when Anisha showed off her ring finger a diamond ring.

Tenth son of Sultan Hassanal and his second ex-wife Hajah Mariam Abdul Aziz, Mateen does not hold the title of crown prince. However, he is often seen accompanying his father, one of the richest men in the world, as an advisor. Having studied international politics at King's College London, he has the skills and preparation to be up to the role. With Sultan Hassanal we saw him at the wedding of Hussein of Jordan and Princess Rajwa, at the coronation of Charles III and at the funeral of Elizabeth II. An RAF-trained helicopter pilot and captain of the Brunei Armed Forces, he studied at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, the same one attended by British Princes William and Harry.

Brother of the late Prince Azim, Mateen is passionate about sports, particularly boxing and polo. For this last discipline, with which he represented his country in various international championships, he traveled several times to Spain, where he participated in the Sotogrande Polo Tournament.

It is not only because of what has been said so far, however, that in Southeast Asia the prince is something of a celebrity. Heir to a fortune of around 15 billion euros, the handsome prince has a very well-groomed physique which he shows off on Instagram, the social network where he has 2.4 million followers.

From his father he also inherited some eccentricities, such as a passion for animals (in the palace grounds, the sultan has a zoo where 30 Bengal tigers live in semi-freedom, about 1% of all the tigers left in the world) and for luxury cars (his father went on to own over 2,500 supercars).
