The Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT) received new powers. Now the organization will be engaged in the promotion of Russian IT-companies on the world stage, which on Monday, May 24, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the fund.
The Russian Ministry of Digital Science and VEB.RF have expanded the competencies of RFRIT. Now the fund will be responsible for implementing measures to support the IT industry and preparing new initiatives, as well as developing the Open Source direction and bringing Russian digital solutions to the world market. Until 2024, RFRIT should receive from the budget 20.5 billion rubles for grant support for the development and implementation of Russian IT solutions and 7 billion rubles to reimburse the costs of using Russian software by representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.
Alexander Pavlov has been appointed the new head of the fund. Prior to that, he served as Advisor to the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation and oversaw the direction of international relations and the export of Russian technologies.
Recall that RFRIT was established in 2017 within the framework of the national program “Digital Economy” and the group of the state development corporation of Russia VEB.RF. The main goal of the fund is to support the development and promotion of Russian software, the development of an appropriate infrastructure in the country, as well as to stimulate scientific and innovative activities.
