The rejection of “exclusion and famine” imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip by foreign countries was welcomed today by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, a day after the EU announced that it will review the connection agreement with Israel. “We welcome the positions of EU countries, (…) Donor countries and (…) of the Arabo -Islamic Committee,” Abbas said in a statement. “They all rejected the policies of exclusion, famine, displacement and land seizure,” the Palestinian president added. “They called for an immediate truce and the immediate and without obstacles to the entry of humanitarian aid with the UN mediation”, while “they also rejected the use of Israel as a weapon and a political means of achieving his illegal goals,” Abbas stressed.
