The iPhone 14 Pro will be masking a new notch in the display. Looks ridiculous

Almost a year has passed since a rumor about a new cutout in the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) display first appeared on the network – allegedly, instead of the current “bangs”, there will be holes in the form of the letter “i” inverted to the right. This information was repeatedly confirmed by a variety of leaks. Now, an insider from the authoritative publication MacRumors has reported that the new iPhones will programmatically mask these two cutouts, visually making one large one out of them. But that’s not all.

According to recent information, the pixels between the cutouts will simply turn off – with the active screen, it will seem that there is only one hole in the display, in the form of a long tablet.

However, the insider adds that Apple will not stop there and will programmatically increase the size of the notch in the screen with the same technique of turning off pixels. For example, the company can expand it for more harmonious proportions on the sides (so that there is no empty space next to the icons in the status bar) or increase it in height to a square with rounded corners “when certain notifications are delivered.”
