The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) will discuss how to end Ukraine’s grain embargo on export to the world, German Foreign Minister Alena Berbock said today.
“There are 25 million tonnes of grain currently stranded in the port of Odessa, which means food for the millions of people in urgent need of the world, especially in Africa and the Middle East,” Burbock said.
The war in Ukraine has pushed up international prices for cereals, cooking oils, fuels and fertilizers, with the United Nations warning that rising prices will exacerbate the food crisis in Africa.
