The Italian summer of Franciacorta, between wine, food and fantastic places

Franciacorta, a cornerstone of the classic method of the Belpaese, was the protagonist of the Italian summer, between Capri and Versilia, thanks to the partnership with Nomad (the travelling art and design fair that creates real experiences in unconventional places, making them an integral part of the exhibition) of which the Consortium has been the official sparkling wine for 2 years.

It happened at the Prior’s Cloister at the Certosa di San Giacomo, built in the second half of the 14th century by Giacomo Arcucci – Grand Chamberlain of Queen Joanna I of Anjou – perhaps the most significant architectural testimony of theCapri Islandwhich from 4 to 7 July was transformed into the Franciacorta Lounge: here, gallery owners, designers and collectors were able to discover the different types of Franciacorta paired with dishes served in two special dinners, one at the starred restaurant Monzù, inside the Punta Tragara Hotel, the other at ‘O Vico, the new pizzeria by Enzo Coccia that recently opened on the island.

And then a stop in Versilia, where Franciacorta Week has just concluded, a regular and eagerly awaited event for Franciacorta enthusiasts. During this week, in addition to the opportunity to discover the nuances and secrets of this great wine, guests had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of events, tastings and themed dinners.

But the events of the Italian summer of Franciacorta do not end here: still in Versilia, on July 15th the Versilia Gourmet Franciacorta awards will be presented, an event that sees the main players of the local restaurant scene as protagonists. And not only.

And finally the most anticipated event on 13, 14 and 15 September with the Franciacorta Festival in the Cellara weekend to discover the places where this extraordinary Classic Method is born, among open cellars, gastronomic proposals, cultural and sporting initiatives, itineraries among monasteries, castles and historic homes immersed in the vineyards (festivalfranciacorta.wine).
