We've seen the rise of the wolf cut, butterfly cut, and jellyfish cut, but a new animal cut will steal the crown for 2024. It's the kitty cutor garlic per kitten.
This style is emerging as an antidote to the mega-shaggy, ultra-layered styles that were going strong in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Plus, it pairs perfectly with current bobbed hair trends (since the bob cut made a comeback this year ), with the advantage of more length and versatility.
What is a kitty cut?
A more elegant reinterpretation of animalier cuts (such as the wolf cut and the cub cut), the kitty cut it's less wiry, but still offers subtle, sophisticated layers to give hair structure and movement. With a length that falls between the shoulders and collarbone, it is shorter than the Rachel, but longer than the bob. Its key is that it mixes delicately cascading layers with sensual length: it's refined, but also sexy and feline.

How to wear the kitty?
The secret is to cut longer layers, with the longest kept about an inch shorter than the base length. Then, you add layers that gently rise behind and around the face, without shortening them too much and breaking them up (so as not to fall into shag territory). Around the face, additional swooping layers can add a frame: consider cheekbone-length curtain fringes and jaw-length locks.
As for texture, the cut can work on straight, wavy and curly hair. With curls, a curl-by-curl cut will ensure the cut is perfectly tailored. As for the hairstyle, we saw the cut air-dried and natural, blow-dried and voluminous, semi-wrapped and a little disheveled and flipped to the side for added charm.
