The Kremlin calls for restraint in the Middle East after the Iranian attack on Israel

The Kremlin said today that the situation in the Middle East is developing in a worrying direction and called on all sides to show restraint. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russia is in contact with all sides in the region and said Moscow condemns any action that causes civilian deaths. This situation is developing according to the most alarming scenario, Peskov said. “We call on all sides to exercise restraint in the background of what is happening. And of course, we condemn any actions that lead to the death of civilians”. Asked what Moscow will do next and whether it will support Iran in the event that Tehran enters a full-scale conflict with Israel, Peskov said: “We have contacts with all sides in this conflict, we continue to have them the contacts and we call on all sides to exercise self-restraint”.
