Proposal for “world peace summit” on Ukraine the country’s president submitted to the G7 Volodymyr Zelensky, yesterday Monday (12/12). Russia today rejected a peace proposal of the Ukrainian president which would include a withdrawal of Russian troops, saying that the Kyiv must accept new “realities” on the ground. The representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov stated that these realities include adding to Russia of four Ukrainian regions as its “new subjects” – annexations it announced in September but most member countries of the United Nations have condemned as illegal. He was responding to a request of his Zelensky to the leaders of the Group of Seven industrialized nations yesterday, Monday, for more military equipmentsupport for economic and energy stability, and support for a peaceful solution that would begin with the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine beginning by Christmas.

“These are three steps to the continuation of hostilitiesn,” said Peskov.

“The Ukrainian side must take into account the realities that have developed during this period,” he added in response to a question about the proposed withdrawal of Russian troops. “And these realities show that new subjects have appeared in Russian Federation. They appeared as a result of referendums that took place in these areas. Without taking into account these oi news of realityno kind of progress is possible,” he noted.

“There is no problem” h Russia to begin withdrawing its troops by the end of the year, he said. Ukraine and its Western allies rejected as illegal the “referendums” referred to by Peskov held in four regions of southern and eastern Ukraine partially held by Russia, saying they were held at gunpoint, APE-MPE reports.

The Kremlin spokesman also stated that Russia has not placed heavy weapons in the nuclear power plant of Zaporizhia, in southern Ukraine.

The Kyiv has repeatedly accused Russian forces of using the nuclear plant, which occupied by Russia in the early days of the war, as a de facto weapons depot. The two sides they accuse each other of bombing the station, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. In a conference call with reporters, Dmitry Peskov also said that Russia remains in contact with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA – IAEA), which is trying to ensure the creation of a demilitarized zone around the station.
