The hacker behind the $47 million hack of the decentralized KyberSwap protocol said he was willing to make a deal with the project team “if they behave politely.”
The hacking of the KyberSwap Elastic platform became known on November 23 – then the hacker still continued to exploit the vulnerability in the smart contracts of the protocol. He managed to withdraw various assets worth $47 million, and the theft occurred on various blockchains, including Arbitrum, Optimism and Polygon.
He said he had prepared a statement regarding the deal and planned to “release it on November 30th at exactly noon UTC.”
The hacker also made contact last week. He left a message that “negotiations will begin in a few hours” once he is “fully rested.”
Recently, the HTX (formerly Huobi) cryptocurrency exchange and the HECO network were reported to have been hacked. Unknown persons withdrew assets worth approximately $110 million. The fact of hacking was confirmed by the head of HTX.
