The largest Albanian party in North Macedonia, the DUI led by Ali Ahmeti, lost one seat in the repeat parliamentary elections in the country's seven constituencies held on Wednesday. The seat lost by DUI is won by the coalition of four opposition Albanian parties under the brand name “Axizia”, the National Electoral Commission of North Macedonia announced. The repeat voting in seven electoral divisions was held following a relevant decision of the country's electoral court, due to irregularities that occurred in them in the parliamentary elections of May 8. Now, after the repeat vote, the DUI has 18 seats (as many as the outgoing ruling Social Democratic Party -SDSM-), while the “Deserves” coalition wins one seat and reaches 14. The right-wing VMRO-DPMNE remains on 58 seats, while out of six seats have been secured by the nationalist, pro-Russian party “Left” and the newly founded party “Xero” of the mayor of Kumanovo, Maxim Dimitrievsky.
