Analytical company Gartner has published a rating of major buyers of semiconductor products at the end of 2020. Compared to 2019, this market grew by 7.3%. As in 2019, Apple bought the most semiconductor products. More precisely, it alone acquired 11.9% of all semiconductor products manufactured in a year. For comparison: in 2019, Apple also topped the rating, but then its share was 8.6%.
Samsung retained the second place. The share of the South Korean manufacturer also increased, but to a much lesser extent – from 8.0% to 8.1%. Note that Apple increased purchases by 24.0% over the year, and Samsung – by 20.4%.
Huawei reduced purchases by 23.5%, but was able to stay in third place. True, now it takes not 5.0%, but 4.2%. It is followed by Lenovo with 4.1%, Dell with 3.7%, BBK with 3.0% and HP with 2.4%. The top ten also includes Xiaomi (2.0%), Hon Hai Precision Industry (1.3%) and HPE (1.2%).
