The world’s largest containerships with a capacity of more than 24,000 boxes were delivered by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of CSSC, to Taiwanese shipping company Evergreen Marine Corporation, one of the largest containerships companies in the world.
The “Ever Alot”, carrying capacity 24,004 Teu. has a length of 400 meters, a width of 61.5 meters and a draft of 17 meters.
The vessel is the seventh in the Evergreen A class and the first ship in the world to exceed the 24,000 Teu limit. The Evergreen Class A is a series of 13 container vessels built for the Evergreen Marine, and those delivered – to date – have a maximum theoretical capacity of approximately 23,992 TEU, earning the title of the largest container vessels in the world. Six ships were built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea, while seven more will be built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) at two shipyards in China.
The first ship in the category, the Ever Ace, previously held the title of largest in the world after its delivery in July 2021.
