The largest program of the NSRF amounting to € 4.16 billion was approved.

The first in the EU was approved by the European Commission. Program financed by the European Social Fund (ECB +) of the new programming period 2021-27 and at the same time the largest budget NSRF Program 2021-2027 entitled “Human Resources & Social Cohesion 2021-2027”, public expenditure 4.16 billion. of which € 3.3 billion comes from European Social Fund (ECB +) funds and the rest is a national contribution.

The program will support the country’s human resources, especially where increased needs are identified, serving national strategies and priorities in the fields of employment, education and social fields, as well as the policies of the European Pillar of Social Rights, according to the Ministry of Development and Investment.

The key goal is to make a decisive contribution in the coming years to reducing unemployment and especially young, women and vulnerable groups of the population, as well as to upgrade the quality of educational work at all levels of education, to enhance the skills of the school / student / student population.

The strategy of the Program “Human Resources & Social Cohesion 2021-2027” is based on the following priorities:

• Horizontal / Systemic Interventions to strengthen labor market institutions and services, social inclusion and health, governance at all levels of education and improve the participation capacity of the social partners and civil society actors
• Employment & Labor Market
• Education & Lifelong Learning
• Promotion of Social Innovation
• Youth employment
• Food Aid & Dealing with Material Deprivation.

The new Program emphasizes actions especially for young people up to 29 years old who are out of employment, education and training, with a budget of 1 billion Euros.

The new Program includes innovations aimed at simplification, acceleration of implementation and timely planning. The invitations will be made with wide information of the citizens and beneficiaries, they will be less in number and bigger in budget (open invitations). Finally, for the first time, the possibility of developing a financial tool through the European Social Fund in the fields of social innovation, social economy and social entrepreneurship is envisaged.

Indicative actions of the Program:

• Extension of the opening hours of all-day kindergartens and primary schools, to facilitate the participation of parents-guardians in the labor market, support of family income and access of all students to a free and quality school program with equal learning opportunities. (The action will start with a pilot application, initially in schools in Athens and Thessaloniki).
• Open type labor market integration programs with emphasis on the long-term unemployed, women (DYPA)
• Gender Equality and Demographic Policy Observatory
• Support of Skills Workshops for Primary and Secondary students
• ‘Nanny’ of the neighborhood (full development of the pilot application)
• Inclusive education for students with disabilities: adapting the education system towards the full development of inclusive education
• Greek language and culture culture program for beneficiaries of international protection in order to strengthen their accession process
• Support programs for young entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on the green, digital, and blue economy and high-growth sectors
• Operation of Professional Development & Career Offices – GEAS
• Apprenticeship Support for young people up to 29 years old (post-secondary year of EPAL)
• Open Program for the first integration of young people aged 18-29 in the labor market for the acquisition of work experience and the creation of new jobs in the private sector (AD seal).

The new NSRF has as its main objective to create a safe environment for all independent citizens and especially for the most vulnerable social groups and the sectoral program “Human Resources and Social Cohesion comes to confirm this very goal”. “4.2 billion euros, listening exactly to the needs of society. The approval puts at the disposal of Greece 4.16 billion Euros for the implementation of actions for employment, education , with emphasis on the unemployed, women, pupils, students, vulnerable groups and especially our young people under the age of 29. Thanks to the services of the EU, the Ministry of Development & Investment and the relevant Ministries, through the European Social Fund 2021-2027 now begins a new page for the human resources and social cohesion of the country that concerns each citizen individually “.
