The lava of the volcano in La Palma from space – Stunning photo by Russian cosmonauts

The images recorded from the island of La Palma in Spain after its eruption volcano Kumbre Vieha and the devastation it has caused for almost 2 weeks are breathtaking. Like them with the house that was miraculously saved from the hot lava river that burned everything around it, until finally the rock that was built on it recedes and this too is lost.

Russian cosmonauts at the International Space Station have taken a fantastic night photo of the lava river coming out of a volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma, revealing the enormous scale of the disaster.

The image posted by cosmonaut Oleg Nowitzki on Twitter captures the volcanic activity and lava river that cut the northwestern Canary Islands in half and shines brighter than the nearby settlement.

La Palma: The island grew by 500 meters

The eruption of Kubre Vieha began on September 19, causing a mass evacuation of the island, which has a population of over 85,000 people.

More than 800 buildings, banana plantations and other infrastructure have been destroyed as lava continues to flow into the Atlantic Ocean.

The lThe waterfall reached the shoreline on Tuesday, near the city of Tacacorte, and has been pouring into the water for days. The cooled lava has already created a 500-meter-wide rocky expanse in the ocean, extending the island’s soil further west.

Earlier, experts warned that contact of the lava with seawater could lead to the release of toxic gases into the atmosphere. But local authorities said the air quality on the island remained fine.
