The legendary Blondie lion studied by Oxford University experts killed by hunters in Zimbabwe

Blondie, the legendary lion, attended by a scientific study by the University of Oxford, was brutally killed by trophy hunters outside Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, on the week of June 29, according to the Daily Mail. The lion was reportedly enticed with pieces of meat from the rear truck to get out of the protected belt and to pass on hunting ground where hunting is allowed. Just three months ago, researchers had a GPS collar on Blondie to watch himself and his herd, which consists of three adult females and ten youngsters. There are concerns that the professional hunter who organized the hunt knew that Blondie brought a collar and had a small dependent. Simon Eleles, Managing Director of Africa Geographic and a sponsor of the research, said: “We are outraged.
