Microsoft has released data from the sixth annual Microsoft Digital Civility Index (DCI) for Safer Internet Day.

The study shows that the Global Digital Culture Index is close to its best result ever in a survey, up 2% from last year, from 67% to 65%. At the same time, Russia is ahead of the global pace of improving the situation in the online environment: the number of people who faced Internet risks in 2021 decreased by 6% – from 80% to 74%.
Microsoft also notes that almost every second respondent in Russia (48%) is still subjected to some form of online bullying. At the same time, the majority (60%) noted that they became less upset about this.
70% of Russian respondents noted that it was remote work and study that contributed to the improvement of the level of digital culture. Only 29% of respondents experienced negative incidents in online meetings and 24% in online lessons. Most often, respondents encountered online risks when communicating on social networks outside of work and study (67% and 77%, respectively).
