The list of Trump’s new, sweeping duties across the globe – the bold bet on White House

Donald Trump presented an updated list of sweeping duties, targeting imports from dozens of US trade partners, in a significant escalation of a potentially detrimental world trade war without preceding modern history. For the most part, Trump’s duties will come into force on August 7, sealing months of bargaining, experimentation and delays, the New York Times said. The US president has put in place the new contributors through a series of executive decrees, some of which reflect preliminary commercial agreements recently concluded with countries that offered favorable concessions to the US. Overall, these actions are equivalent to a bold White House bet, which believes that its policies can restore the world commercial class, increase the new federal revenue and press private businesses to produce more than their products in the domestic market.
