The little prince of Bhutan is one year old: the new photos with the mother queen Jetsun Pema

He turns one year old on March 19th Ugyen Wangchuck, Gyalsey (i.e. prince) of Bhutan, second son of the king Jigme Khesar Namgyel and the queen Jetsun Pema, and to celebrate him, new and beautiful images have been released that portray him in the garden of the Lingkana royal palace, together with his parents and older brother Jigme Namgyel, 5 years celebrated on February 5th.

Very tender images, those of the prince, who was officially presented to his subjects three months after his birth, on the occasion of the celebrations for Guru Rimpoche, also known as Trelda Tsecu who, according to tradition, would have brought Buddhism to Bhutan in the eighth century.

And on that same occasion the rulers had revealed his name.

As per the royal tradition, the latest family photos were also shared on social networks, where little Ugyen Wangchuck and his brother took little to take the stage and win many likes.

The last time happened last November, on the occasion of the anniversary of the king’s accession to the throne: another occasion to underline the ultra-modern character of the Himalayan monarchy, which has conquered the gossip pages also thanks to the history of love of sovereigns.

Married since 2011, Jigme Khesar Namgyel and Jetsun Pema are a close-knit couple. For her, nicknamed by many the «Kate Middleton d’Oriente», he gave up on polygamy and waited for her, ten years younger, to complete her studies. Graduated from Regent’s University in London, Jetsun Pema is descended from one of the oldest noble families in the country: the maternal grandfather, for example, was half-brother of the great-grandmother of the current king. Powerful ties, also consolidated by other unions. Jetsun’s younger sister, Yeatso Lhamo, is married to a brother of the king, Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, while the brother Dasho Thinlay Norbu recently said “yes” to Princess Eeuphelma, daughter of the fourth king of Bhutan and one of his wives, Queen Mother Ashi. They say that Bhutan is the happiest country in the world, it is certainly a place where blood ties are felt.
