The Lucid Group’s Air Dream Edition Range luxury sedan has been certified in the US to have a mileage of 837 km on a single charge.
This is the largest range of electric vehicles certified by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). For comparison: the autonomy of the Tesla Model S Long Range electric vehicle barely exceeds 650 km.
Electric vehicle manufacturers are looking to extend the range of their vehicles to better compete with gasoline-powered vehicles. However, as consumers move quickly to electric vehicles, the adequacy of the charging infrastructure remains a concern.
In August, Lucid promised to begin shipping its Air Dream Edition Range electric vehicles later this year. The entire planned production volume of this model has already been completely sold out long ago.
