On New Year’s Eve from 21:23 Moscow time to 00:23 Moscow time, you can observe the coverage of Mars by the Moon [своеобразное затмение Марса]. <...> [Оно будет видно] only in the south of Australia. We won’t see it in Moscow, since the lights will be under the horizon. ”
Almost a year later, on December 8, 2022, another eclipse of Mars by the Moon will take place, which at this moment will be in opposition to the Sun. Koshman noted:
The full moon will cover bright Mars for 40 minutes. <...> This rare astronomical event will take place on December 8, 2022 at 8:00 Moscow time, and it will be possible to observe it in the morning sky of Moscow. ”
