The majority of Russians opposed the Sputnik V vaccine and will not be vaccinated with it – poll

Most of Russians (62%) are against being vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Sputnik V vaccine. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Russian sociological company Levada Center.

Only 26% of respondents were ready to be vaccinated with the Russian drug, 10% have already been vaccinated with Sputnik V, and about 2% more against any vaccines in general.

It is noteworthy that the number of Russians who trust the domestic vaccine began to decline rapidly. In August 2020, Sputnik V was trusted by about 38% of respondents (now 26%), and not trusted by about 54% (now 62%).

At the same time, the Russian vaccine is most popular among people of the older generation, the least among young people.

The survey was conducted on April 22-28 with the help of personal interviews, 1614 people over 18 years old were interviewed in 137 settlements of the Russian Federation. The error is no more than 3.4%.

  • In April 2021, Rospotrebnadzor documents were leaked to the network, according to which four people died in Russia after being vaccinated with Sputnik, and six more received complications.
