The dialogue, collected by the author Chiara Tagliaferri, is a concentrate of energy between different personalities, but with one characteristic in common: the creation as an act of rebellion. Different artists, who offer their point of view on things, on the world, and on time, for example: «For a couple of years we’ve been in perpetual motion, and it’s crazy but also dangerous because the lack of time risks affecting the artistic side: it can happen that we find ourselves writing a song in five days and it’s really senseless, we should take all the time in the world for our music» says Victoria De Angelis. “The thing I miss most is having time to grow as a musician,” she echoes Thomas Rays.

“Overexposure, and working too much beyond one’s means, is what has destroyed the careers of the best artists of recent generations. When you can no longer live your life because on the one hand you are overwhelmed by responsibilities and on the other you are consumed by the fear of disappearing (what happens if I say no to the interview, to the TV, to the tour), you start to suffocate. I would avoid a second wave of musicians who go crazy or die swollen with medicines: there are so many good artists, I would keep them healthy for the next few years!» tells Damian David.

«I was already grown up when I became known to the fashion public, I was almost forty-two, and I understood that you have to keep close to who you are and where you go: you have to love yourself very much and you have to love what you do just as much. We must also learn to say many no. We are human beings who like to create worlds: you imagine sounds that don’t exist and put them together, I see things that someone doesn’t see. It is a great gift to be able to share with others what we feel and what we want to tell,” he says Alexander Michael.

The others, just those who Ethan Torchio, speaking of gender differences, does not want to label: «I also want to say that being born with a vagina or a penis does not make you a woman or a man. I’m interested in the soul of people, which is not masculine or feminine: it’s simply an energy».

«The Måneskin are a pride of our country in the world. But also, and above all, four boys next door. In a world of many likes and few handshakes, they are free spirits. Intelligence and lucidity together» – he explains Francesca Ragazzi, Head of Editorial Content at Vogue Italia in his editorial.

The shots were taken by Hugo Comte and the styling is by Vittoria Cerciello.

Vogue Italia will be on newsstands from 22 November 2022.
