The Japanese company Balmuda, which became famous mainly as a designer and manufacturer of expensive minimalist toasters, decided to enter a new market for itself – the smartphone market.

Interestingly, Balmuda does not have its own production facilities. Nevertheless, it produces small household devices that are expensive and interesting in their design and functionality, as well as computer accessories.
Balmuda will develop the design of smartphones, and the Japanese company Kyocera will be the production partner. Smartphones will receive support for fifth generation 5G cellular networks and will run the Android operating network. They are initially planned to be offered only through the Japanese operator SoftBank, but models are also planned without being tied to the operator. The first devices are expected to be released in November.
