According to reliable information, the Medical Center of Athens proceeded with the sale of the obstetrics and gynecology clinic GAIA to the IASO group.
At the moment there is no official announcement from either of the two medical giants in our country. According to his information Capital.gr, tomorrow is going to be the last day of maternity surgeries, although nothing has been officially announced to the staff either, who are, of course, on hold. The amount of the price that Oaktree will pay, ie the Oaktree investment fund, has not been announced either.
The day will end tomorrow with one-day hospitalizations and then the building of the Athens Medical Center in Maroussi will be sealed, until it is ready for the new use.
Now, regarding the staff, the information states that they will remain security personnel until the latest incidents are discharged, according to the information on 16/12. The midwives and gynecologists from GAIA will continue at the IASO maternity hospital, but the other professionals will continue on their own. More specifically, the gynecologists signed to continue for three years at IASO.
In all likelihood, the existing premises of GAIA will be replaced with ENT clinics and general surgeries.
It is recalled that the Medical had announced at the beginning of December the following “Following the question no. 2816 / 01.12.2021 of the capital market committee, we inform the investing public that we are in discussions with Oaktree Capital Management / Iasso SA, which concern exclusively and only in the obstetric-gynecological activity of the Medical Center of Athens “Gaia”. We will keep the investing public informed of any developments. ”
