The Microsoft utility has learned to dock a window on top of others. It’s really more convenient to work

Microsoft continues to refine its proprietary PowerToys utility, which provides advanced Windows 10 and 11 users with handy tools to simplify their work with the system. Recently, version 0.53.1 was released (followed by 0.53.3), in which the “Always on Top” option appeared. The innovation allows using hotkeys to pin the active application so that it is always on top of other windows.

The principle of the Always on Top function is very simple. The user just needs to press the combination Win + Ctrl + T, and the active application window is docked on top of all the others – while it is highlighted in blue for a visual fence.

The Always on Top option can be customized in detail by setting your own key combination, choosing the desired highlight color and thickness, adjusting the docking sound effect and specifying exclusion programs.

PowerToys from Microsoft is distributed completely free of charge – you can download the utility on GitHub.
