Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew welcomed on Friday 23/05, at the Fanari the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor of the Syrian transitional government, Hid ‘Abud Campauat, along with her associates. At the meeting they had, Mrs Kampauat, who in the religion is a Christian Orthodox, referred to the Syrian government’s efforts to rebuild the country and the support of all citizens. The Ecumenical Patriarch particularly expressed his interest in the state of Syrian Christians, referring to the close historical ties between the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Palefatos Patriarchate of Antioch. The meeting was also attended by the Metropolitan of Elder Chalkidonos Mr. Emmanouil and the Grand Ecclesiastes Mr. Aetios, Director of the Special Patriarchal Office. Source: RES
