In the Instagram account of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, footage of the new Russian electric motorcycle Aurus was posted. The specialists of the NAMI Institute worked on the project of this model.
It is known that the dynamics of acceleration of an electric motorcycle from 0 to 100 km / h will be only 3.7 seconds. Also in the prototype of the electric vehicle, the developers used an electric motor with a peak power of 140 kW. Such technical characteristics will ensure smooth operation, quietness and the necessary power reserve.
Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov emphasized that during the development work in the development of a new electric motorcycle, all the requirements of the specialists of the special purpose garage of the Federal Security Service of Russia were taken into account. He is sure that NAMI specialists have designed a very high-quality and effective electric transport.
Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade also said that the new Russian development will help expand the range of motorcycles. The developed platform is ideal for creating a special electric transport for the work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. There is a possibility that on this platform, NAMI specialists will develop electric motorcycles that will go on free sale for Russians. At the moment, there is no exact date for the release of the new vehicle. However, earlier the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the serial production of the new electric transport Aurus would begin in 2022–2023. The pricing policy of the Russian motorcycle is currently unknown.
Recall that Aurus is a family of executive and high-end cars, the brand line of which is represented by 5 models: sedan, SUV, limousine, minivan and motorcycle. Now the car company is cooperating with NAMI specialists for small-scale assembly of vehicles. In the future, Aurus plans to transfer production to the Sollers plant in Yelabuga.
