Two days ago, on March 27, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that all foreign citizens who come to the country to work will need to go through the registration process in the new electronic register, which was specially created for this purpose. It is worth clarifying that registration is mandatory both for foreigners themselves and for those who provide them with work – otherwise they will receive a ban on labor activity. And today the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that this register, which will include foreign citizens who have arrived at work, will acquire a kind of analogue of “State Services”.
The digital profile of a foreigner who has been registered in the new database will contain information about his legal status, as well as his place of residence and work. In addition, the profile will also contain a complete list of the citizen’s biometric data. Thanks to this, immigrants who have arrived in Russia will be able to fully conclude employment contracts with an employer, receive confirmation of their education, make various kinds of payments and pay mandatory taxes. Moreover, the user will receive useful information from a variety of services, including mailings demanding to leave the country on time.
For the first time, the “Gosuslugi” portal was launched in 2009, and since then the platform has been constantly modernized, receiving new functions. For example, a few years ago, the service acquired the function of viewing traffic fines with the ability to pay them, and you can also check tax arrears there. In total, 103 million people are currently registered with the service, of which 10 million visit the platform every month. After the introduction of the new function, the audience of the service is likely to increase significantly, but the timing of the launch of the new product has not yet been announced.
