American electric carmaker Fisker has announced that its flagship Ocean SUV will make its official European debut at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. A major exhibition dedicated to mobile technologies, this time will be held from February 28 to March 3.

Fisker first shared plans for a flagship Ocean electric vehicle back in 2016, and in October 2020 it announced an agreement with manufacturing company Magna International to produce the vehicle. This was followed by a long-term agreement with Magna, which was announced last summer. In this agreement, the production timeline was set, which should begin in November 2022.

In November 2021, the Ocean electric car was shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The biggest news then was the price—starting at $37,499—which, with full U.S. federal credit for electric vehicles, means Americans can get a base Ocean model for less than $30,000.
In Barcelona, European consumers will have their first chance to see the Fisker Ocean.
According to the company’s management, it is working on launching production at a plant in Austria in November. Deliveries to the European market will start this year and should eventually reach 60,000 pieces per year. The Sport trim variant will have a range of 400 km, while the Extreme variant will have a range of 560 km.
