The driver, 53-year-old local Tracey Ellis, is charged with careless driving and failure to provide a breathalyzer sample, according to dailymail.co.uk. CCTV footage shows the car running on the road, before falling onto the outside chairs and tables, narrowly avoiding hitting the pair directly.
All the other tables were empty, but when the Audi hit the plant next to the couple’s table, the man was thrown from his seat onto the pavement. The vehicle came inches from hitting him, but he was able to get up immediately after falling from his seat.
Then, people from the shop staff and customers, come out of the restaurant after hearing the noise and checks the couple and the driver. After going out to see the destruction she caused, the woman returns to car her, but then comes out again.
She is then seen walking towards the restaurant followed by a member of staff as the video ends. A member of staff said the woman knocked over all the tables, but added that “at least no one was hurtincluding the couple sitting at one of the tables.”
