The acclaimed pollster, who has been dubbed the “Nostradamus of the US presidential election,” was left embarrassed on Wednesday as he realized his prediction was wrong. “I don’t get it,” Professor Alan Lichtman said during live commentary of the election as Trump’s victory became increasingly clear. Lichtman, 77, has correctly predicted nine of the last 10 presidential elections since 1984. He was sure from the start that Kamala Harris would win, initially by a wide margin, but later revised by closing the margin.
