A new adaptation of the renowned horror author Stephen King got its first trailer this Tuesday (15). Entitled “The Monkey” the film stars Theo James (“Divergent”), produced by James Wan (“The Conjuring”) and directed by Osgood Perkins (“Longlegs”).
“The Monkey” is one of Stephen King’s short stories first published in 1980. The story follows twins Bill and Hal who find their father’s old toy monkey in the attic. Soon after the discovery, a series of terrible deaths begin. The brothers then decide to throw the toy away and move on with their lives, distancing themselves from that as the years go by.
In addition to Theo James, the cast of “The Monkey” is made up of Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”), Elijah Wood (“The Lord of the Rings”), Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth”), Colin O’Brien (“Wonka”), Rohan Campbell (“Halloween Ends”) and Sarah Levy (“Schitt’s Creek”).
“The Monkey” is scheduled to premiere on February 21, 2025 in theaters in the United States. There is still no release date for Brazil.
