Short video sharing platform Tiktok topped the list of most downloaded apps for Christmas this year, according to mobile data and analytics company App Annie.
The number of downloads on December 25 worldwide was estimated on both the App Store and Google Play. TikTok is followed by Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp Messenger and Snapchat. App Annie noted that the ranking is based on downloads and consumer spend across two stores.
App Annie’s data also includes a ranking of the most downloaded games for Christmas, topped by Brain Story: Tricky Puzzle. The top five also includes Poppy Rope, Subway Surfers, Free Fire and Roblox. Brain Story was only released on December 21st and was an instant hit.

It was also noted that some apps did not make the top 10, but were very popular in various regions of the world, for example, Oculus, HBO Max, Disney +, Veve, Ftibit and Roblox.
