According to the Economic Times, Samsung Display has begun manufacturing smartphone displays in India. The company, which is Samsung’s display division, produces over 70% of displays for TVs, mobile phones, tablets and other electronics in Asian countries such as China, Vietnam and South Korea.
The South Korean giant began manufacturing smartphone displays at its Noida, Uttar Pradesh plant in April 2021. The move is said to have provided jobs for 500 people directly and roughly 1,300 indirectly. India previously offered financial incentives to Samsung to set up a display factory in Noida. The Indian government is taking many measures to ensure that the country remains the manufacturing center of the world.

The South Asian country recently approved a $ 1.02 billion stimulus to stimulate local production. The country’s leadership suggests that chip makers will start production in India. Samsung Display has invested approximately $ 653 million to move its display division from China to India.
Samsung is expected to expand its display production to other peripherals such as monitors and other IT products in the future.
