The object belonged to Ernest Tomlin and is part of a stunning, unpublished record of documents related to himself and the tragedy of the Titanic, which his family has retained over the years. Ernest had initially purchased a third -place ticket for RMS Adriatic, but was transferred to the Titanic, which was on the way to New York on his maiden trip from Southampton, along with other passengers due to a miners’ strike.
