The mother of 12 children who left her family to fight in Ukraine and was killed at the front

Sadness has spread to Ukraine the news that one mother 12 children and a combat doctor who was on the front line with the Ukrainian army, was killed in his field of war. According to the Daily Mail, Olga Semindianova was fatally injured during a fire in the city near Donetsk in the east of the country and it was reported that the 48-year-old continued to fight even though much of her unit had been killed.

According to Ms. Semindianova’s family, she was killed by a bullet in the stomach, but her body has not yet been retrieved due to the ongoing fighting in the area, which has left her family devastated.

Her daughter, Julia, told the Sun: “She saved the soldiers to the end. “We have photos from the place of death – but because of the fierce fighting we still can’t bury my mother.”

The “Mother Heroine” of the Ukrainians

The doctor, who had the honorary title “Mother Heroine”, had served in the army since 2014 and was killed on the border between the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions on March 3, according to the Kyiv Independent newspaper. The 48-year-old had six children but had adopted six other children from a local orphanage.

He lived in the town of Marhanets, which was about 150 miles from where he was killed earlier this month. The title “Mother Heroine” is given to women who have had more than five children.

Tributes rained down after the news of her death, led by members of the Ukrainian government.

Anton Gerashenko, an adviser to the country’s interior ministry, told the Sun: “He was killed in a clash with Russian criminals. Even when she believed that her constitution might not survive, she stressed her desire to protect the country to the end. He is a national hero. “He is a hero to me.”

Ukrainians have also begun to pay tribute to social media as news of her death became known.

Marina Ivanchenko said on Facebook: “This Ukrainian woman is really a heroine.”
