The motion of censure against Ursula von der Laien was voted against – with 360 votes against and 175 in favor

The European Parliament has rejected a wide majority of a motion of censure against European Commission President Ursula von der Laien. The majority of members of the European Parliament, who voted on the proposal submitted by the far -right, supported the president of the Commission. If he had lost the vote, von der Laien and the rest of the committee would have to resign, sinking the EU into crisis. 360 MEPs voted against the proposal, 175 voted in favor and 18 abstained. Of the 720 MEPs, 553 came to the vote. To approve the proposal, 357 votes were required.
