A pleasant surprise was made by Prince William in boxer Lauren Price (Lauren Price) at Kensington Palace, shortly before leaving for the Tokyo Olympics. Lauren is from Wales. She will be the first Welsh boxer to compete in the Olympics this summer. He played international football for Wales before moving to boxing in 2014. As a kickboxer, he won the silver medal at the 2007 World Championships in Athens at the age of 13. She became a world champion and later competed in Taekwondo. In 2014 she became the first Welsh athlete to win a boxing medal at the Commonwealth Games and four years later won the gold medal at the same event in Australia.
Lauren talked about boxing, the difficulties she encountered especially when she had to balance school with her job as a taxi driver. Lauren grew up with her grandparents and sadly, her grandfather died last November.
