The MP who was stabbed several times in a church in Britain has died

Passed away the British Conservative MP who was stabbed in a church today, as announced by the police. MP David Amess was stabbed by a man who entered a church while meeting with voters in his constituency.

Police also announced that the man had been arrested.

THE Member of Parliament of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party received multiple stab wounds inside a church, an eyewitness told Reuters earlier.

David Ames, 69, representing Southeastern West Essex (East of England), was attacked with a knife around noon during a meeting at the Belfars Methodist Church.

Police said a man was arrested after the attack and is not looking for other suspects in connection with the incident.

The MP’s office confirmed that David Ames had been attacked with a knife but gave no further information.

“He received multiple stab wounds,” John Lamp, a local councilor at the scene, told Reuters, according to the Athens News Agency.

Shots from a helicopter broadcast by the Sky News network show armed police officers outside the church as well as ambulances.
