An Ankara Municipality’s prosecution in Turkey is ongoing for economic irregularities at concerts organized by the party. A request was also filed for the cancellation of the Republican People’s Party conference where Ozgur Ozel was elected, according to SKAI correspondent in Constantinople Manolis Kostidis. 10 journalists were arrested that this morning, ten reporters were arrested by Turkish police, including a photographer at Agency France-Presse (AFP), according to the French News Agency. The new arrests come amid a great deal of repression by the Turkish authorities, which included the arrest of Constantinople mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, the greatest political opponent of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to the Association of Studies of SMEs and Law, which provides legal support to journalists in Turkey, journalists were arrested for covering demonstrations in Constantinople and elsewhere against Imamoglou’s imprisonment.
