The National Bank supports five young top athletes

The National Bank, resolutely continuing its long-term support for the development of Greek sports, announces the start of sponsorship of a new generation of talented Greek athletes. The bank’s goal is to strengthen the significant national effort for distinctions in the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games, as well as in any other leading international sports events.

At a recent special event, the CEO of the National Bank, Pavlos Mylonas, together with bank executives, welcomed and welcomed five young talented athletes in the “family” of the National. These are Miltos Tentoglou, Christian Golomeev, Christos Frantzeskaki, Spyridoula Karydi and Elina Tzengo, who will have the support of the National Bank for the next two and a half years.

Particularly:

– Miltos Tentoglou: He is at No. 1 in the world ranking in the long jump. After winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics and the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade a few months ago, he now has one last gold medal to win, that of the World Open Track and Field Championships to be held in July in Oregon, USA.

– Christian Golomev: As the 5th Olympian in the 2021 Olympic Games, he is now focusing on the World Swimming Championships that are already being held in Budapest and the European Championships in Rome. His goal is to chase a medal in the 50m. free, the “race of one breath”.

– Christos Frantzeskakis: having started the season amazingly, he is currently at No. 9 in the world rankings in hammer throwing, while at the same time he has already secured his participation in the World Championship in Oregon and the European Athletics Championship in Munich, chasing the dream of a medal.

– Spyridoula Karydi: She is in the 19th of the world ranking in the triple jump and at the moment she is one of the greatest talents in the triple jump in her age. The biggest challenge of the year is the European Athletics Championships in Munich, where she will try to continue her very good presence so far.

– Elina Zhengo: Having won the gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires at the age of 15 and the silver medal at the World Youth Championship in Kenya in August 2020, this year she managed to reach the limit for the World Championship and the European Athletics Championships in Munich. Her performance is among the top three in the world to date in the Open.

At the event, the CEO of the bank, Pavlos Mylonas, said: “It is with great pleasure and pride that we further expand our support to Greek sports, supporting the efforts of 5 of our young talented athletes in a highly competitive and demanding course for international distinction. “We congratulate them on their success so far, their talent, their hard work, but also their dedication and we promise that we will be by their side.
