The National General Collective Bargaining Agreement is for extension

The validity of the National General Collective Bargaining Agreement (EGSEE) is expected to be extended for another year, according to information from Capital.gr by executives of trade unions involved in the negotiations between the social partners.

Specifically, the current EGSSE, which expired on December 31, according to the same sources, is expected to have retroactive – new effect from January 1, 2022 until December 31, 2022.

Valid information of Capital.gr state that working groups will be formed in relation to the new LAEK (the ELEK according to the new law on labor) but also the codification of the National General Collective Labor Agreement and all collective labor agreements.

The renewal of the current EGSEE is expected to bring the renewal of the following terms of the EGSEE of 2021 and specifically:

– The maintenance of Institutional Working Conditions

The Contracting Parties decide to conclude a new EGSS for the year 2021.

It is expressly agreed that all the institutional working conditions established by the previous EGSSE and the respective Arbitration Decisions, as they were in force during their succession, constitute a single whole and are still in force.

– The Most Favorable Working Conditions

Favorable working conditions provided by laws, decrees, ministerial decisions, collective agreements, arbitration awards, internal regulations, customs, business practice or individual employment contracts prevail.

– The Negotiations for Wage Terms

The Contracting Parties expressly agree that, if during the validity of this EGSS any restrictive provision imposed by legislative intervention on the content of the EGSSE 2010-2011-2012 is lifted, then direct negotiations will begin to determine the wage terms. of the EGSSE.

– The Fair Transition to a low carbon economy

The Parties to the EGSSE, reaffirming Article 6 of the EGSSE 2018, on the condition and importance of the Fair Transition of workers to a low carbon economy which will provide the necessary support when there is a need for their reorganization, retraining and redistribution, and Equally necessary and necessary is their institutional participation in the planning and actions of a fair transition in the post-colonial era through the Plan for a Fair Development Transition (SDAM).

Considering that development policies should guarantee the full and equal participation of both employees and employers in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of public policies for adaptation to climate change, including investment strategies, in accordance with the guidelines of the International Labor Organization. , the Parties to the EGSSE agree:

(a) to design, through their Institutes, a common mechanism for monitoring developments and information and training activities to develop skills and necessary skills in emerging industries, acquire new skills in all areas and retrain in vulnerable areas;

and

b) to send a joint letter to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs for the establishment of a new Department in the Supreme Labor Council on the environment and work, in which the parties to the EGSSE will participate proportionally and equally, and on the other hand a representative of the Ministry of Environment .

-The fight against violence and sexual harassment at work

The Parties express their support for combating violence and sexual harassment in the workplace.

Recognize that violence and sexual harassment are incompatible with promoting sustainable businesses and have a negative impact on work organization, employment relationships, employee motivation, business reputation and productivity.

In this context, the Contracting Parties support the ratification of International Labor Convention 190 and Recommendation 206 on Violence and Harassment.

With a view to the proper and balanced application of DSE 190 and Recommendation 206 in national law, the Contracting Parties decide to set up a Working Group whose task is:

Utilization of the 2007 Framework Agreement on Harassment and Violence at Work, in order to maintain certain provisions applicable and effective at national level.

The development of a concise Guide for informing and raising the awareness of employers and employees against illegal discrimination at work, violence and sexual harassment.
