Austria's chancellor has announced the convening of the National Security Council, following the arrest on espionage charges of a man working for the country's now-disbanded domestic intelligence service. It is necessary to prevent threats to Austria from “Russian espionage networks”, which infiltrate or exploit political parties or networks,” Chancellor Karl Neuhammer of the conservative Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) said today. The Council will convene on April 9.
